About SVD

We Are Always Evolving

Founded on expertise

After spending 15 years in the equipment valuation, management, and disposition business, in 2010 John Carroll founded Silicon Valley Disposition (SVD). The company was founded with a strategic focus on providing increased transaction (efficiency and more) and accountability in the repurposing of surplus assets on the secondary market, SVD is truly unique in this expertise. Ranging from the disposition of an entire plant to monetizing routine surplus assets, the company incorporates transparent, cost-efficient solutions (SAM) that are always geared towards meeting our client’s requirements and staying true with our green initiative for a better global tomorrow.

With great fortitude, the company possesses decades of experience consulting and guiding all types of companies through the surplus asset management and disposition process. We have implemented our proprietary strategic asset management and disposition platform (SAM) into some of the largest companies in the world. Using SAM, we have been involved with and successfully conducted thousands of disposition sale projects all over the world. Our asset knowledge spans into dozens of industries and hundreds of asset classes, including all types of Industrial Manufacturing, Technology Manufacturing Facilities, Research & Development, Processing Plants, Oil & Gas, to name a few.

The SVD Green Initiative

SVD Green Initiative

Companies worldwide are continuing to develop new products, purchase equipment for production, support, and infrastructure. Through major innovations in technology, manufacturing, and production, comes the constant need to obtain new tools to accomplish these goals. These goals fuel innovation, separate one company from the next, and encourage new companies to emerge and grab a hold of the many opportunities our world provides. This is business. This is our world’s market.

Unfortunately, the innovation and drive for obtaining measurable success is not always what is best for our environment and its sustainability for generations to come. New companies are beginning to think about how they can build better, recycle more, and not be responsible for a footprint left for generations. This requires someone within an organization to understand the best method to ensure their surplus assets are not ending up in landfills polluting our environment with consequences only now being measured. The biggest hurdle is companies do not have the resources to dedicate a team in this area who understand how, or have the resources, to move unneeded surplus out and do this in the most ecofriendly way.

Silicon Valley Disposition (SVD) continues to utilize our proprietary Strategic Asset Manager (SAM™) to capture key components of information required to make better informed business decisions with the circular economy in mind. It is all about the ability to identify surplus, provide values, descriptions, and images to find a better way to repurpose all assets; even ones considered to be worthless. To do this is challenging for any company, but SVD does it every day through years of experience.

Our team of experts have been involved thousands of projects, provided major companies with guidance on the repurposing of assets and managed thousands of online global auctions to find buyers who are ready to put these assets back into use, recycle properly, or donate to worthy causes.

We consider the acronym O.U.R. H.O.M.E. (Optimizing Underused Resources Helping Organizations Monetize Equipment). This is our planet and our home. SVD’s core strength, through the use of SAM, is to identify surplus, provide our clients with vital information, and recommendations that make sense to them and our planet. We keep our client’s goals and available resources in mind when finding and executing the perfect repurposing solution.

In 2021 SVD repurposed hundreds of thousands of tons of a variety of materials and equipment. Through our worldwide audience and global reach, SVD continues to surpass our client’s expectations in both our ability to provide a constant revenue stream, and finding solutions for their surplus, including assets they believed to be difficult or impossible to repurpose.

Understanding the circular economy is understanding what the world faces today regarding e-waste, landfill reduction and greenhouse gas emissions. It is SVD’s goal to continue to strive for effective, impactful utilization of our strengths to find better solutions for our client’s surplus disposition needs that makes sense for a better planet for our future.
